Domestic adopters are often supported by their agency to make the application for an Adoption Order but if the application is opposed by birth parents, or it becomes complicated, you may need independent legal advice and representation.
International adoption is not straightforward. Every country has different laws about adopting children and our law recognises some foreign orders, and doesn’t recognise others.
International adoption usually requires coordinated advice from family lawyers and immigration lawyers. We have established relationships with immigration specialists and can work closely together to support you.
We also advise a national adoption agency and support their prospective adopters.
