Amanda Stopps

Amanda Stopps is a consultant solicitor having qualified in 2002. She studied law at the University of Glamorgan and then went on to the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice to obtain her professional qualifications. She completed her legal training at a high street practice in Henley on Thames before moving to practice exclusively in family law at a firm in Banbury. Amanda joined BH&O in 2020.

Amanda is a core member of the Matrimonial Team and has received praise from clients for the way that she advises them in a clear and accessible way. As a member of Resolution, Amanda is bound by their Code of Practice and is committed to forms of Non-Court Dispute Resolution, ensuring that she seeks to resolve matters between separating individuals in a way that minimises conflict.

Amanda has experience in matters that deal with divorce, finances and children. She particularly specialises in financial cases: aiming to ensure fair settlements in the division of property, pensions and savings. With regards to children, Amanda helps separating couples to navigate arrangements. She has completed the What About Henry training course on child development and employs a child-centred approach to any private children act matters.
