Lucy Lightowler is a consultant solicitor and joined BH&O in September 2019.
She studied Law at Warwick University and then went on to the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice to obtain her professional qualifications. She completed her training at a leading Oxford firm and in 2003 she qualified as a Solicitor practising in all areas of family law for several years. More recently she has worked at the University of Oxford as a Policy Advisor dealing with legal and compliance issues for the colleges.
Lucy is a member of Resolution and was previously secretary of the Oxford branch of Resolution during the early part of her career. She is currently a Committee Member of the Oxford branch of Resolution helping to arrange events for the local family lawyers.
During a difficult time Lucy offers a supportive and friendly approach. She is down to earth, non-judgemental and a great listener who takes time to understand her clients and build a strong and trusting relationship.
She prides herself on being able to explain complex processes in a clear way and to help her clients navigate the legal process.
Lucy specialises in acting for parents in care proceedings, child disputes following relationship breakdown and cases of domestic abuse.
